If you were horrified to find that series 4 came in a blue box and ruined your colour scheme as I was then you're not going to like series 5 – it's green! That said I actually discovered that the red used in series 2 and series 3 are actually slightly different shades.
There are more important issues here though. And if you were looking for continuity, looking for it in series 5 is the wrong place with everyone leaving Capeside or at least trying to as the cast head off to college.
It's a good series though. The producers had their work cut out for them finding wacky excuses for everyone to end up in Boston somehow but they managed to pull out 23 episodes that felt like DC.
I'm sure most of you have already seen the series but for those who haven't, there is the addition of a new member to the group, Audrey played by Busy Phillips. Also there is one hell of a shocker near the start of the series, see if you can spot what is going to happen before it does.
Also Chad Michael Murray puts in some serious guest-starring time as Charlie Todd the character that makes no sense emotionally when you think about it, but after an entire year of watching One Tree Hill and months of writing daily news about the show I just can't see him as anything other than Lucas ;).
The lack of extras is a real let down though. It's a barren wasteland. The first series was ok, it had commentary and some short documentaries, the other series barely scrapped by with at least two commentaries but this has nothing. That was a pretty major disappointment.
Series 5 was a good series, maybe not as good as series 4 but DC worthy none the less. The DVD itself is good for hardcore fans but the lack of extras in any shape or form aren't enough to even persuade me to recommend this to non-DC fans.
